What's Up! Free Entertainment Weekly for El Paso, Juarez, Las Cruces
Volume 11, No. 43 July 28-3, 2010

Best Museum or Gallery
El Paso Museum of Art
Featuring more cultures than a bacteria farm, the El Paso Museum of Art reigns supreme for the second year in this category with binational artist lectures, an ever-popular foreign film series and an exhibition cleverly named “Untitled and the Minimalist Aesthetic.” If you’re not down with the contemporary, kick back with the classic Kress Collection of 13th-18th century European pieces or Mexican colonial art from the 1700s and 1800s. Nestled in the heart of downtown, EPMA borders the Plaza Theatre and the Camino Real Hotel and is “the only accredited art museum within a 250-mile radius,” according to their website. Admission is free, since your city taxes support this exquisite museum. Thanks for supporting the arts! 1 Arts Festival Plaza, 915-532-1707.
